This fall, Boston Fashion Week (BFW) is scheduled to take place over the span of ten days. Style conscious citizens will be able to indulge in glamorous runway presentations, industry events, shopping incentives, exhibitions, informative programming, and exciting parties taking place during this eagerly anticipated annual tradition running from September 27th to October 6th.

Led by founder and Executive Director Jay Calderin, Boston Fashion Week continues to grow, and more importantly evolve under the guiding principle that “Boston Fashion is Smart.” In addition to the many shows and special events yet to be added to the official schedule there are a few pillars already in place that are serving as the foundation for the week.

The TENT at Boston Fashion Week (September 27th – 30th) launches the week with an opening night gala hosted by the Mandarin Oriental, Boston and 12 shows over the next three days. An announcement will be made early this spring inviting designers to vie for one of the coveted juried runway slots. Each show will make a block of tickets available to the public for purchase at the end of August.

The Copley Catwalk will continue the run of Boston Fashion Week runway shows in the Center Court at Copley Place. Two shows a night from October 1st through October 3rd will highlight several of Copley Place's high-end retailers, as well as a series of special showcases featuring some of the best work from Boston area fashion design schools.

For the first time in Boston, The MART at Boston Fashion Week will provide retail buyers and designers with the opportunity to connect and do business during Boston Fashion Week. The industry only event will take place from Thursday, October 4th through Saturday, October 6th at the new Revere Hotel. The MART will also include post-MART professional programming each day.

The Boston Fashion TRAIL will be stronger than ever thanks to partnerships with online services like Spreedia – a continuously updated e-book of the best boutiques in Boston, and Hey, Hey, Gorgeous – an online portal for high-end salons. The TRAIL will provide fashion enthusiasts the best shopping deals throughout the weeks before and including Boston Fashion Week, as well as a myriad of experiences and opportunities at local hotels, restaurants, and other lifestyle retailers -- proving that fashion is definitely an integral part of the Boston lifestyle.

The Boston Globe will host a series of high profile post-show parties at venues throughout the area that will highlight the work of accessory designers, as well as hair and beauty professionals.

The official closing night event of the week will be a model party hosted by fashion editor Alexandra Hall, celebrating the local modeling industry.
