Fibres and related materials have shown an increased importance in medical and health care products, which are applied in hygiene, operating room textiles, wound care, implantation, tissue engineering and other speciality areas.
More conventional applications of textiles in medical and health care include protective clothing work-wear and bedding.
Many hygienic aspects are related to the quality of laundry and aftercare of hospital textiles, especially the proper handling and washing in order to avoid microbial contamination.
The FiberMed06 Conference will bring together international specialists from hospitals, manufacturers, research institutes and universities for promoting transfer of knowledge and co-operation for increasing the performance in all levels.
