The Russian city of St. Petersburg will host the fifth edition of Aurora Fashion Week (AFW) from April 9-14, 2012.
More than 40 collections of fashion designers from Asia, Europe and the US will be presented at the event.
The event will kick off with display of collection by well-known US fashion designer Thom Browne, who is known for his excellent men's tailoring.
Leading Russian designers like Larissa Pogoretskaya and Leonid Alexeev as well as new and aspiring fashion brands such as Cat's Production, Shlitsa, some2some and Za-Za would also showcase their latest creations at the event.
The star attraction at this year's AFW would be a presentation titled “The Twelfth Night” by one of Russia's leading fashion designer Tatyana Parfyonova. Tatyana, who is reputed for creations that celebrate ultra-romanticism, femininity and tenderness, will display her collection on midnight of April 11.
AFW aims to provide a platform for fashion designers to promote their work and help revive the long-defunct Russian textile industry.
In a short span, AFW has become one of the largest and most important fashion weeks in Eastern Europe.
