The textile industry in Angola will bounce back with greater gusto when the ongoing renovation and upgradation work at the Textang company gets completed by August 2013.
The modernization work is being carried out through a project involving three companies – Textang, Africa Textil and Satec, and is being implemented by Japanese group Marubeni.
On completion of the project in August 2013, Textang will initially begin spinning, weaving, and dyeing and printing of cotton fabric.
Textang factory covers and area of 30,000 sq m and Marubeni plans to install latest textile machinery and equipment supplied by Toyota by mid-2013, in order to facilitate the textile factory to become operational by August next year.
Marubeni has so far managed to secure funding of US$ 1.15 billion to renovate and modernize the three textile units.
