Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack has announced the appointment of two Members and two Alternates to The Cotton Board. Members and Alternates serving The Cotton Board are charged with providing strategic leadership to guide The Cotton Research and Promotion Program.
The appointed Members are Aaron A. Barcellos, a producer from Los Banos, California and Roger C. Glaspey, an importer from Fresno, CA. These newly appointed Members will serve terms expiring on December 31, 2014.
Both newly appointed Alternates are representatives from the importer segment making up The Cotton Board. They are: Sapna Sapru from Forest Hills, New York and Kris T. Arabia from Orlando, Florida. The terms of the new Alternate appointees expire on December 31, 2013.
The Cotton Board Chairman, John Clark an importer from Los Angeles, California was pleased with Secretary Vilsack's appointments saying, “The Member appointees, Aaron Barcellos and Roger Glaspey are both experienced Members with an exceptional working-knowledge of The Cotton Board. I also look forward to getting to work with the new Alternates, who will surely bring a fresh perspective to our Board's activities.”
