tom gorski, leader of a us retailers' delegation informed that jc penny that the largest apparel retailer of the us will purchase home textile products, apparels and readymade garments of worth rs 8billion each year from pakistan.
gorski explained that the import of pakistani textile products in various retail stores of jc penny inc was nearly $70 million per annum. the rise in demand is due to enhanced quality in the textile products.
“the company has decided to double the imports of pakistani textile and readymade garments in coming two years to fulfil the increased demand,” he added.
the governor khalid maqbool said the government would set up two new garment zones in lahore and faisalabad with the assistance of garment exporters' association.
modern stitching units would be installed in these zones to improve the quality of pakistani garments, he rounded off.
