EPB strikes export deal worth Tk342.5mn at Kolkata trade fair

At the industrial fair held at Kolkata recently, 40 Bangladeshi manufacturing and exporting companies participated and export orders worth Tk 342.5 million (Rs34.25 crore) was cornered at the fair.
West Bengal Chief Minister Buddhadeb Basu inaugurated the fair
Adviser to the Commerce Ministry of Bangladesh Barkatulla Bulu visited the fair.
Representative companies from Export Promotion Bureau (EPB) participated in the fair to expand the export markets of Bangladeshi products.
Bangladeshi companies manufacturing melamine tableware, foodstuff, consumer products, jute products, furniture, and jamdani saree bagged export orders almost immediately from the local companies.
The products on display in the fair included silk products, furniture, melamine tableware, jute-made products, foodstuff, cosmetics , fancy bag, cold drinks, jamdani saree, handicrafts, toiletries glass sheet, ,kitchenware etc.
Bangladesh pavilion got a special award at the fair.
