Dalian Autumn Fashion Week 2012 to begin from Sept 8

The much-awaited ‘Dalian Autumn Fashion Week 2012’ is all set to commence on September 8 and would run till September 12.

A part of the 23rd Dalian International Fashion Festival, the sartorial soiree will be held at the buzzing city of Dalian in northeast China’s Liaoning province.

The event is scheduled to hold a series of fashion-related programmes, such as conducting press conferences for promoting local brands, lectures on latest trends and a special fashion concept show for the local and reputed designers.

Apart from the promotional and other fashion-based activities the event will also hold the traditional ‘Dalian Cup Fashion Designers Contest,’ themed as ‘Creation and Brand.’ This contest encourages young fashion designers to interpret Chinese fashion to the world by using Chinese signs.

Till now the contest has received nearly 873 designs from around 22 Chinese cities and a total of over 30 entries are being selected for the final competition.

Moreover, the popular ‘Dalian Cup Quilt Creative Design Contest’ also has been included in the event.

The ‘Chinese and Foreign Costumes Show,’ displaying nearly 238 costumes from different nationalities will be exhibited on an area spreading across 1,500 square meters in the fashion week venue.

An inseparable part of the event for the past five years, the local industrial clothing show, will also be held during the fashion week.
