The experts would also be deliberating on various management and other methodologies to increase the per acre cotton crop production in Pakistan.

In Punjab province, cotton sowing has taken place in over 5.26 million acres of land, compared to the target of 6.2 million acres fixed for the current sowing season.

In Sindh province too, cotton sowing has been carried out on 1.36 million acres of land, as against the target of 1.66 million fixed for the ongoing season.

Overall, cotton sowing is down this season by about 15.3 percent year-on-year. Still the country is hopeful of producing about 14 million bales of cotton during the current season.
