Schoeller brings 'shape memory effect' – fabric innovation

And this is how it works
The c_change membrane is set to a predetermined temperature range. As soon as higher surrounding temperatures or body heat lead to a higher level of moisture which has to be transported away, the membranes reacts.

The flexible polymer structure of the hydrophilic membrane changes1 and allows water vapour to escape quickly to the outside air. As soon as the body begins producing less heat and therefore less moisture, the polymer structure reverts to its original position (which explains the term: shape memory material).

During this process, body heat is stored and protection from cold builds up. Even more comfortable Schoeller also combines this smart membrane technology with a new type of lamination. Dots of vapour-permeable polyurethane are applied allowing not only the space between the dots to breath but moisture will escape through the breathable dots as well.

Innovative products for sport and leisure c_change has been subjected to testing under extreme conditions and complies with the bluesign Standard.

This guarantees the greatest possible exclusion of substances which could be harmful to humans or the environment, as well as the most economical use of resources. Schoeller is using c_change in combination with carefully-selected upper and lower materials.

The first elastic and nonstretch fabric innovations with c_change technology for the sports area have already been launched.

1 In physics, these motion patterns are known as 'micro Brownian motion'. They were named for the Scottish botanist Robert Brown who observed the phenomenon as far back as 1827. However, this effect was only confirmed by physicists such as Albert Einstein and then became familiar under this name.

Schoeller textiles are provided with their individual additional properties in various finishing processes. As well as their individual look. In up-top-the-minute trend colors and effects.
