FASHIONxt put fashion forward lifestyle on display Oct 10-13. Even while Portland’s fashion week was on newsstands with full-page recognition in Time magazine’s October 15th issue, FASHIONxt was putting on a show in stump town. FASHIONxt revealed the relationship between fashion forward apparel and accessories and personal technology in a way that personally engaged trend setting guests and exhibitors.

FASHIONxt earned praise from global technology leader Intel to Portland startup Carbon Audio and from acclaimed fashion designers who drew crowds in the lifestyle plaza and whose collections graced the runway.

“Portland FASHIONxt provided Intel the opportunity to showcase innovation, creativity, and the convergence of technology and fashion. Portland FASHIONxt is unique in that it pushes the envelope in terms of what is next in fashion and lifestyle – this was manifested by the designers, their inspirational collections and a vibrant enthusiastic “fashion forward” crowd.

“At Intel, we create technology that enriches and makes for a better future. So for that reason, the alignment with Portland FASHIONxt made perfect sense,” said Mark Vaiciulis, Intel Global Marketing.

“FASHIONxt was the perfect foray into the scene for Zooka, which was designed to be fashion forward while enabling you to have your own catwalk and dance party everywhere you go. It's the new, streamlined boom box that you can throw in that trendy new handbag, or match to that killer pair of heels. We'll definitely be back--fashion dictates Zooka. And fashion loves Zooka,” said Jason Martin, Carbon Audio Co-Founder and CCO.

“After 20 years living in Italy and designing accessories for some of the top names in fashion, I’ve been to hundreds of trade shows and runway events around the world. FASHIONxt clearly stands out as being about what’s next and enabling real, more personal interaction between people and fashion,” said BD503 Handbags founder and designer Bianca Pettinari.

“Our experience being featured at FASHIONxt matched Executive Producer Tito Chowdhury’s vision for a perfectly executed event making powerful connections between designers and the public, the press and business community — we’re now in the early stages of two really exciting new collaborations because of FASHIONxt,” said David Haines, BD503 Handbags co-founder.

“Tito’s incredible vision, ideas and passion for FASHIONxt captures exactly how I feel about fashion design and that's huge,” said Michael Costello, Project Runway All-Star and the designer featured in Time magazine.

“As we know fashion is always based on creating trends and what's next. FASHIONxt brings that to us and it was an honor to be part of such a forward movement,” said Viktor Luna, New York fashion designer and Project Runway Season 9 star.
