A Taiwanese Footwear Company in Vietnam's Ho Chi Minh City failed to deliver the promised salary raise, forcing around 9000 workers to stage a walk off on Monday.
Hue Phong Leather Shoes Co. Ltd, situated in Go Vap District of the city had agreed for salary raise by VND200,000 ($12) per worker, said workers.
The Company on the contrary set up certain conditions which workers could not fulfill.
Last year too, work came to a standstill on issue of low wages in HCMC and other provinces which made government to increase minimum wages.
Following Government orders some companies did raise salaries, but made cuts in stipend and bonus.
