Carpet industry enlists support of famous film makers

To popularize the domestic and traditional carpet industry, participation of famous film personalities from the Iranian celluloid industry have been called for.
Speaking to reporter, Sunday, Manuchehr Mohammadi, art advisor to the Director of Iran's National Carpet Center announced that fifteen leading Iranian filmmakers will shoot short films on Iranian carpets and thus promote them through their works.
Each filmmaker will shoot his film bearing less than twenty words running under a - five minute duration.
Abbas Kiarostami, Bahram Beizaii, Behruz Afkhami, Dariush Mehrjuii, Ebrahim Hatamikia, Kamal Tabrizi, Khosro Sinaii, Majid Majidi, Mojtaba Raei and Rakhshan Bani-Etemad, all famous filmmakers will participate in the project that will be funded by the carpet center.
Mohammadi informed that there was national consensus over extending support to the hand-woven carpet industry which indeed inspired all filmmakers to join and support this project.
The project will begin next month and will be completed with four months, conveyed the Project administrator Reza Mirkarimi.
Meanwhile, it is learnt that film maker Sinaii has finished shooting his film and is underway with editing it.
