Motonari Ono shows his S/S-14 line at Tokyo FW Day-2
Oct '13
Internationally acclaimed Japanese fashion designer Motonari Ono featured a beautiful array of avant-garde Spring/Summer 2014 creations on the second day of ongoing Mercedes Benz Fashion Week Tokyo.
Staying true to his fondness for French boudoir corsetry designs, the designer once again featured a lace ruffled and detailed collection which included skirts and tops in sombre black and dark rust colours, transparent raincoats and some 1960s style swirl print dresses.
The Tokyo Fashion Week debutante Mitsuru Nishizaki, behind the label Ujoh, chose a feminine look for his maiden catwalk show at the event. Made from seersucker and botanic printed jacquards, the line included peplum-shaped jackets, tops and skirts, as well as slender pants, textured knits, cropped boxy tops and few iridescent blue and yellow coloured sportswear pieces.
Fashion label A Degree Fahrenheit staged a very dramatic set up to unveil its latest range, designed by Yu Amatsu. The show featured models first clad in black burqa-like garments and later walking down the ramp slowly to unravel the looks, which included a variety of sensuous garments, made from crisp cotton and textured tweed.
Based on a dominant palette of orange, with shades ranging from soft coral to blazing flame, the pieces were highlighted with strategically placed cutouts, plunging backs, asymmetrical hemlines, and flowing ruffles.
The young menswear label Patchy Cake Eater, from designer Shigeki Morino, showcased a trendy line full of slim, polished suits, star printed plaid shirts and men’s jumpsuits.
