India's largest polyester manufacturers Indo Rama Synthetics announced that it is setting up new polyester expansion venture at its Butibori plant near Nagpur, Maharashtra state.
The expansion would double the capacity of polyester staple fibre (PSF) production and somewhat in oriented yarn (POY) from 300,000 to 600,000 tons per year.
Chairman and MD of Indo Rama, O. P. Lohia informed that the expansion plan is expected to be completed by 2006 and help the company influence rising business opportunities in the manmade fiber industry following the ending of textile quotas in the January of this year.
The company has obtained funds from two German banks for the expansion plan.
