Sportnet Ghana Limited, the local sportswear agents have threatened to take action and prosecute shops which sell pirated replica's of Black Stars jerseys.

The company has tried to pre-warn, before it takes delivery of 500 pieces of original replica jerseys from Puma for sale in Ghanaian market.

Dan Asiedu Asare, Chief Executive of Sportnet, said that Puma has granted them status of official agent for the country and sale or distribution of other Black Stars replica jerseys by unauthorised persons or institutions is restricted.

Initial sales of replica jerseys will be through Sportnet shops, later, the product would be made available at other outlets across the country, Asare said.

Jersey is officially to be launched in Accra this week having a white apparel embossed with embroidered logos of Ghana Football Association and Puma, the official kit sponsors of national football team.

He said 500 pieces are first batch of replicas supplied by the kit company for sale in the country.

Asare said further quantity would be dispatched to meet the market demand.

World Cup debut of Ghana is scheduled against three-time champions, Italy on June 12.
