Midwest Fashion Week kicks off on Mar 15 in Chicago

Midwest Fashion Week will kick off in Chicago, featuring its signature fashion presentation on March 15 at the Dana Hotel. These events will feature Chicago-based designer Michael Alan Stein. 
 
The Midwest Fashion Week kick off in Chicago will lead up to the two main fashion week presentations on March 21 and 22 in Indianapolis, featuring central Illinois designers Ramona Eads and Lilly Scalf during its seventh annual showcase.
 
Chicago hair scientist Crystal E. Porter, Ph.D., founder of Mane Insights, LLC and Associate Director for Special Projects at Chicago State University, will also present at one of the workshops during the Indianapolis fashion week events.
 
In its seventh year and growing, this year’s Midwest Fashion week boasts more national designers coming from all over the country, increased opportunities with manufactures, beauty experts and buyer connections from all around the Midwest states.
 
The schedule for the Chicago kick off is as follows: 
March 13 - Art Meets Fashion 7pm; Gallery Bar (738 N. Clark Ave. Chicago, IL 60654)
March 14 - Dinner Party 8pm; Nellcote (833 W. Randolph Chicago, IL 60607)
March 14 - After Party 10pm; Parliament (324 W. Chicago Ave. Chicago, IL 60654)
March 15 - Fashion Showcase 4pm; Dana Hotel (2 East Erie Chicago, IL 60611)
March 15 - After Party 10pm; Y Bar (224 W. Ontario Chicago, IL 60654)

Midwest Fashion Week was founded by Chicago/Indiana fashion designer Berny Martin to present an innovative fashion industry platform and partnership for the region’s most creative and daring fashion designers. With international and national brands participating, Midwest Fashion Week is proud to include luxury shoe brand Luichiny among its prestigious partners for the spring 2014 showcase. 
 
It is the mission of Midwest Fashion Week to bring high fashion into the many aspects of Midwestern life and industry and to support those in the region who wish to pursue a career in the fashion industry. Each year, Midwest Fashion Week puts on a number of runway shows and community events, with one major series taking place in the spring and in the fall.
