Season One NBC Fashion Starts and Evening Magazine’s The Look contestant Lisa Vian Hunter to pass on her years of experience as an independent designer and Madison Valley boutique owner through her Designer Workshop Series. Ms. Hunter’s How to Start a Fashion Business is a series of hands-on, How-To workshops for the fashion-minded entrepreneur.

The Designer Workshop Series will provide real business world experience to aspiring fashion professionals who want to get started on the steps from taking an inspiring idea to bringing their merchandise to market.

Designer Workshop #1 is the first in a series of How-To workshops to be held at Vian Hunter House of Fashion located at 2814 East Madison Street in Seattle on March 29, 2014 from 9 AM to 1 PM. The Workshop focuses on learning and practicing real-world critical business aspects of a fashion business.

No prior fashion design education experience is required for this first workshop in the series, though your take-away learning and skill development will be greatly enhanced if you bring with you a fashion idea you are currently thinking about.

At the end of Designer Workshop #1, participants will be able to:
-Calculate cost of goods sold (COGS) and determine retail and wholesale pricing
-Develop a 24-month Activity Calendar, starting from their design concept to product shipping
