Fashion house AMBELL opened the third day of ongoing Mercedes Benz Fashion Week Tokyo with its latest Fall-Winter 2014-2015 collection, inspired from the works of late New York-based abstract painter Ad Reinhardt.

Dubbed as Black Symphony, the range highlighted military-infused styles, geometric patterns and fantasy motifs of the real world landscapes. The featured pieces included furry coats and check skirts and dresses.

Indonesian brands Major Minor, from design trio Ari Seputra, Ambar Pratiwi and Inneke Margarethe, as well as Nur Zahra shared the catwalk space by showcasing their respective avant-garde collections.

Major Minor chose to feature a modern urban range, replete with black leather tops and teal coloured pants and skirts, whereas Nur Zahra opted for a more conventional Islamic look with dyed and printed hijabs and long demure dresses.

South Korean label Free Madonna, owned by Jay Kim, drew inspiration from the magnificently colourful rainbow for its new runway presentation. Mixed with sporty girl like styles, the pale pink, light blue, khaki, black and purple hued line featured ruffled peplums, robes, animal print flared skirts and blousons.
