Textile & footwear exports rise for first four months

Vietnam's exports turnover of April 2006 was $3.2 billion, which was lower than $3.4 billion compared to previous month, announced the Ministry of Trade.
Total exports turnover of Vietnam for first four months reached $12.1 billion, up 25 percent compared to same period of 2005.
Textile, garment and footwear occupy the two highest places in list of exports, with revenue surpassing the $1 billion barrier.
During the four month period, exporting Textile and garment exports reached $1.75 billion, recording a year-on-year rise of 38 percent, of which the US market accounted for 50 percent.
In spite of EC's anti-dumping lawsuit, footwear exports turnover reached $1.1 billion recording a rise of 20 percent compared to same period of 2005.
