More than 55 fashion labels showcased their latest lines of exquisite apparels at the just concluded third edition of New Zealand’s premium trade and consumer fashion event—the Wellington Fashion Week (WFW).

The high-end fashion label Moochi kicked off the soiree with its latest 17-piece winter-2014 collection. A harmonious blend of soft and feminine textures, the all black velvet, sheer material and leather crafted line was decorated with stripes, leopard prints and leather collars. Some of the ensembles of the range were finished with Oriental touches such as pleating and Japanese style loose draping.

Plus-size brand The Carpenter’s Daughter sent a very stylish curvy women’s range down the runway, which saw the country’s Social Development Minister Paula Benett parading along with other catwalk models. The show’s standout pieces were a dress with cheetah motifs, a black and white striped jacket, a colourful floral print outfit, a diaphanous lace adorned black dress and a pink patterned jacket paired up with yellow, red, blue and green spotted number.

Fashion label Storm showcased an opulent limited-edition glamorous range, fit for strong independent women. Replete with the brand’s signature rock n’ roll chic vibes, the lace and luxe leather made contemporary line was peppered with edgy details, varied textures, delicate layering, feathers and gunmetal embellishments.

The third instalment of WFW attracted around 15,000 consumers and prominent industry insiders from around the world. The soiree featured nearly 20 buyers and trade focused events, including catwalk presentations, an exclusive media seminar and other style and beauty related shows.
