Benzene prices slip in Asia this & last week

The past 10 days have seen benzene prices slipping across all Asian markets.

Korean benzene prices which were assessed at US$ 1350/ton on August 11 fell marginally to US$ 1345/ton on August 13.

In the Japanese market, benzene prices were assessed at US$ 1355/ton on August 11, which went down on August 11 to US$ 1350/ton.

In India, benzene prices were assessed at US$ 1360/ton on August 11, which too dipped slightly to US$ 1355/ton on August 13.

Similarly, benzene prices across Asian markets slipped last week mainly due to ample product availability coupled with lower downstream product prices in the region.

In the early days of last week, Korean benzene prices were at US$ 1320/ton, lower by US$ 55/ton as compared to the same period of its previous week.

During the week, benzene prices were assessed in the range of US$ 1285-1335/ton FOB Korea as compared to US$ 1340-1375/ton in the previous week.

Last week in Japan, benzene prices showed similar trend as in Korea. Spot prices of Benzene were in the range of US$ 1290-1340/ton CFR Japan last week as compared to US$ 1345-1380/ton in its previous week.

In India, benzene prices showed similar trend as Korea and Japan last week. Benzene prices were spotted in the range of US$ 1295-1345/ton CFR India in the week as compared to US$ 1350-1385/ton in its previous week
