US & European PX prices continue to fall from last week

In Europe, Paraxylene (PX) prices have continued to move down this week too after falling in the last week, due to poor downstream demand sentiments in the region.

Prices which were assessed at US$ 1225/ton on Monday this week, went down during the week and were quoted at US$ 1200/ton yesterday (Aug 27).

In the initial days of last week too, prices were assessed at US$ 1245/ton, lower by US$ 75/ton as compared to the same period of its previous week.

European PX prices were assessed during last week at US$ 1225-1245/ton FOB Rotterdam as compared to US$ 1255-1320/ton in its previous week.

In US too, PX prices followed declining trends seen in Europe, in this as well as last week.

US PX prices which were quoted at US$ 1275/ton on Aug 25 fell during this week and were assessed at US$ 1260/ton yesterday (Aug 27).

In the initial days of last week, US PX prices were assessed at US$ 1305/ton, lower by US$ 55/ton as compared to the same period of its previous week.

Speculators witnessed the spot prices of PX at US$ 1290-1305/ton FOB US during last week as compared to US$ 1320-1360/ton in its previous week.
