And the percentage of RadiciGroup’s 2013 energy consumption from renewable resources totals 44.3%, the latest Sustainability Report from the Italian textile group reveals.

RadiciGroup released its 2013 Sustainability Report, which offers detailed information on activities and performance of all group production companies in Italy as well other countries in corporate social responsibility.

RadiciGroup said the Sustainability Report, now in its 11th edition, has been prepared following the guidelines of the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI).

It also said that it has obtained external assurance at the GRI B+ Application Level for the third year in a row.

The report was submitted for external assurance to an accredited external certification body, which certified the reliability of the data gathered and the level of reporting criteria.

In 2013, 6 group companies obtained 7 different kinds of certificates like ISO 50001:2011, OHSAS 18001:2007, ISO 1400:12004, ISO/TS 16949:2009, ISO 9001:2008, OEF and PEF.

The textile manufacturer said a special effort went into obtaining ISO 50001 energy management system certification, in which 6 companies of the ‘Fibres and Nonwovens’ business areas participated simultaneously.

Radicci Group was able to achieve a 59% decrease in emissions to air in the 2010-2013 periods, which was made possible through monitoring activities and the progressive introduction of best available technologies.

Moreover, in 2013, ISO 9001 certification project for parent company - Radici Partecipazioni S.p.A. was started with the aim of making group processes more consistent and fostering a unified, system-wide vision.

“Once again, in this year’s Sustainability Report we tell about the results, both big and small, that our Group has achieved in the field of sustainability,” said Angelo Radici, President of RadiciGroup.

“I am firmly convinced that consistency and concrete action, which have always distinguished the RadiciGroup approach to sustainability, are an added value to our business, our customers and all our other stakeholders,” he added. (AR)
