Weak upstream last week pulls down Asian ethylene trends

Weak upstream energy prices in the region, pulled down Asian ethylene prices in the last week ending Nov 8.

In Korea, average ethylene prices slipped by US$ 20/ton or 1.54 percent and were assessed at 1275/ton in the last week, as compared to its previous week ending Nov 1.

In Japan, average ethylene prices pushed down by US$ 30/ton and were quoted at US$ 1270/ton last week, down 2.31 percent from its previous week.

In the S E Asia market, average prices fell slower by US$ 10/ton and were offered at US$ 1270/ton last week against its previous week, a decline of 0.78 percent.

In India too, average prices dropped by US$ 10/ton or 0.78 percent from its previous week and were assessed at US$ 1270/ton last week.
