Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz praises federal budget as growth oriented

Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz praised the federal budget for the 2005-06 financial year terming it as growth oriented, people and traders friendly budget.
Speaking at the Parliament chamber, he said major thrust of this budget is to offer relief to all sectors of the society and provide maximum opportunity of employment.
Aziz explained that major steps have been taken to enhance industry and business, which include removal of sales tax from five sectors including textile, sports, surgical, leather goods and carpet manufacturing.
He also stated that this would encourage these sectors while providing more job opportunities.
The minimum wages in the private sectors are also be likely to be increased, he said.
Speaking about the importance of Khushal Pakistan programme, he said focus would be on four key infrastructure areas of provisioning clean drinking water, electricity, gas to all areas, sanitation, construction and improvement of roads.
