Bremen CIF Index quotations fluctuate within a small range
05
Dec '14
The quotations for the CIF Bremen Cotton Index fluctuated within a small range in the current week, compared to the previous week.

The corresponding prices in Euro experienced only a marginal change as well, while the US dollar remained almost stable.

News provoking new impulses to the course of the index were not registered in the medium staple range, thus quotations fluctuated only within a small range, according to the Bremen Cotton Exchange report.

Inquiries from the processing industry mainly addressed to nearby delivery, and shipments for 3 or 4 months in advance were only arranged in single cases.

Contracts were concluded for prompt delivery of medium staple cotton from Spain, Brazil, and West Africa, and Central Asia for the first quarter of 2015. Similarly, contracts were concluded from East Africa for the first and second quarter 2015.

Contracts for long and extra-long staple cotton were concluded from Israel Pima for the first quarter 2015, during the week. (GK)
