An exclusive selection of garments, designed by some of the biggest names of the industry, will become the subject of an exhibition set to be organized at the Bath & North East Somerset Council’s Fashion Museum.
Scheduled to take place from January 31st, 2015 to January 1st, 2017, the exhibit will showcase an array of evening gowns dating back to the early 20th century to the present day.An exclusive selection of garments, designed by some of the biggest names of the industry, will become the subject of an exhibition set to be #
Dubbed as Great Names of Fashion, the display will include couture pieces created by some of the major master craftsmen like Balenciaga, Vionnet, Yves Saint Laurent, Ossie Clark, Bill Gibb and Alexander McQueen who have helped in shaping the trends of their eras.
The major attractions of the exhibition include Italian designer Elsa Schiaparelli’s iconic bejewelled key motif adorned powder blue evening dress (1890 – 1973) and a strapless gown featuring a knife-pleated white silk organdie skirt (1905 - 1957) from the house of Dior. (PB)
