3,000 visitors stream through doors of Texworld Istanbul

The second edition of Texworld Istanbul concluded recently with 112 exhibitors from 12 different countries exhibiting at the show and over 3,000 visitors.

Exhibitors came from countries like China, Turkey, Taiwan, Korea, India, Hong Kong, Pakistan, Germany, Dubai, Egypt, Bangladesh and Indonesia.

Visitors got to see fabric made from cotton, denim, embroidery & lace, fibres & yarns, functional fabrics, knitted fabrics, linen & hemp, prints, shawls & scarfs, silk & silky aspects, trims & accessories and wool & wool blends.

During Texworld Istanbul, visitors also took the opportunity to explore the Trend Forum which had been designed by Texworld’s Art Directors Louis Gérin & Grégory Lamaud.

“With Texworld Istanbul, Messe Frankfurt has strengthened its position as the worldwide leader in textile and apparel fabrics fairs,” said Olaf Schmidt, vice president textiles & textile technologies at Messe Frankfurt.

“It is important for us to be present in the core markets of the industry and to have the best solutions for our customers and for this reason, we are planning to enlarge our business in Turkey,” he added.

Around 81 per cent of the visitors came from Turkey and the remaining from the surrounding regions and representatives of leading fashion brands such as Mudo, M&S, LC Waikiki and Penti attended the fair.

During the opening ceremony, representatives from Knitting Industrialists Association, Osmanbey Textile Businessmen Association and Denizli Exporters' Association underlined their support for Texworld Istanbul.

Exhibitor Mohamed H. Abd El-Karim from Lion Tex Egyptian International Textiles Co said, "We met the right customers from our target groups and we would like to come back again in November.”

Serkan Mutcali from ZorluTeks, Turkey said, “We gained very valuable contacts during the fair and possibly there may be cooperation with Ezra+Tuba to support their fashion and technology related project.”

"We are satisfied with the fair and most of these visitors were from Turkey, Russia and Dubai. We met manufacturers, trading companies and brand buyers,” Joseph Yang from Shenzen Burk Ryan Trading, China noted.

"We have added new clients to our portfolio and we had some positive business contacts during the fair and we look forward to the next edition,” Mustafa Yanmaz from Bayteks, Turkey stated.

"We met fashion designers Ezra Çetin and Tuba Çetin and also buyers from brands like Mudo, M&S and Penti," Recep Enis Alemdar and Engin Alemdar from Fabra Jacquard, Turkey also informed.

The next edition of Texworld Istanbul is slated for November 3-5, 2015 in the Lütfi Kirdar International Convention and Exhibition Center in Istanbul. (AR)
