Textile sector possess capability to develop, opines PIDE Director A R Kamal

At the "WTO & Textile Sector" conducted by Preston University here on Monday, A.R. Kamal Director Pakistan Institute of Development Economics, (PIDE) opined that the world Trade Organization (WTO) has offered a chance to the under developed and the developed nations of the world to enhance to their trade.

"Pakistan should grab this opportunity from this offer by making improvements in the quality of its exportable products," he added.

He added that Pakistani textile sector is having full capability of competing in the global market, as it produces quality of textile yarn and textile products, as none of the other countries in world.

He also informed that in for strengthening textile sector, government should provide progressive textile policies and also set-up professional and state of the -Art textile universities and training centers to train and produce skilled workforce in textile engineering and designing.

Dr. Abdul Basit, Chancellor Preston University addressing the event, opined said that Pakistan should make all out efforts to give develop its textile sector, as it has tremendous potential to earn foreign exchange, that is much needed to the ever increasing import bill of the country.
