The International Cotton Advisory Committee (ICAC) has revised dates for the World Cotton Research Conference-6 (WCRC-6) to be held in Brazil, in the city of Goiânia, Goiás.

The conference would now be held from May 2-6, 2016.

Pre-registration for WCRC-6 is open since early December 2014, and 238 researchers from 28 countries have already pre-registered as of June 8, 2015, ICAC said in a media release.

The WCRC-6 will bring together vast experiences in production systems and latest developments in cotton research.

The event will be a great opportunity for researchers to present the results of their work, expand and strengthen their professional contact network and learn about the most important research done in the world, ICAC said on its website.

The event programme will include six plenary sessions, invited speakers, panel discussions and a number of concurrent sessions exploring developments in various disciplines.

A field visit to modern cotton agriculture production systems in Brazil will also be a part of the programme.

The WCRC-6 will be organised under the auspices of the International Cotton Researchers Association (ICRA), an entity that represents cotton researchers throughout the world. CABI, FAO and CIRAD are sponsoring the conference, with major support from the ICAC. (RKS)
