To address the problems faced by the textile sector of Turkey, a seminar was held titled 'Deepening Crisis in the Textile Sector and Solutions', in Mugla Province.
Halit Narin, senior representative of Turkish Textile Industry Employers Syndicate stated that textile sector is a major contributor to the export earnings of the country's economy and thus, cannot be neglected.
Unrestricted imports and low purchasing power at the Turkish market were indeed major problem areas identified by him.
He criticised the banking sector for taking the general public for a ride while charging high interest rate on credit cards.
