Non-oil exports are expected to cross US $8.5 billion by the end of the current Iranian calendar year (March 20, 2006), according to a report.
It is learnt that non-oil commodities worth $6 billion were exported since onset of the current Iranian year.
During the first month of the new Iranian year (March 21-April 20), non-oil exports reached $725 million for industrial and mining products, as per the Industry and Mines Ministry announcement, Monday last.
As for handicrafts and trade across the borders the figure reached $3 million.
Total industrial and mining exports reached $728 million, which was 66.5 percent higher than the same period last year, the report mentioned.
During Farsi month Farvardin, country's non-oil exports logged $512.5 million, which is 5.7 percent higher than last year's same period figure, Customs Administration sources revealed.
