Handicrafts sector to generate 1m job opportunities

At the opening ceremony of the Nationwide Handicrafts Conference and Exhibition, Hossein Rezakhah, President of Iran's Handicrafts Organization informed that one million job opportunities would be generated by the end of this year.
Handicraft sector has the potential to create maximum numbers of jobs and can alleviate unemployment problem, Rezakhah added.
He said jewelry and hand-woven sectors contain more growth capabilities. Each year, trade of original jewelry account $320 billion and fake jewelry trade stands at around $300 billion.
To promote handicraft sector in real sense, steps should be taken to prevent fake goods to enter in the market.
Jewelry sector alone has the ability to generate 7 million jobs in next ten years time if proper education and strategies are implemented with foresightedness, Hossein Rezakhah stated.
