Bangla businesses calls for improve transport services with Pak

A 16- member trade delegation from Karachi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI), Pakistan led by its President Haroon Farooki held a meeting with the Bangladesh Indenting Agents Association (BIAA) in the city recently, says a press release.
The delegation represented mostly paper, onyx marble, iron and steel, textile, dairy products, cotton, cotton yarn, collapsible tubes and chemicals.
Welcoming the delegation, BIAA Sr. Vice-President and Acting President Maj. Gen. (Retd) KM Abdul Wahed had given a brief resume on the role of BIAA in the promotion of trade between Bangladesh and the foreign countries.
He also felt that the volume of trade between the two countries could be enhanced provided shipping services were improved and regular interactions among the businessmen in both counties were maintained.
Bahalul Mansur, Vice-President, MS Siddiqui, among others, also spoke the delegation.
Mr. Farooki said that frequent visits of businessmen and entrepreneurs of both the countries would bring them closer and help develop business and investment.
He specifically mentioned availability of go od market in Pakistan for Pharmaceuticals, Tea, Solar Lamps, Jute goods, Potatoes and a host of other non- traditional and minor commodities from Bangladesh.
He invited businessmen from Bangladesh to Karachi particularly on the occasion of an exhibition titled "My Karachi" to be held from July 29-31, 2006.
