Grasslands, profitability, lambing rates, breeding, mulesing and fly control are some of the topics that will be discussed at the 'Making more from Merinos' forum in Broken Hill on Thursday 22 June.
All Merino producers, along with prime lamb and wool industry stakeholders are invited to attend the free forum, which is being hosted by Australian Wool Innovation Limited (AWI) and Meat & Livestock Australia (MLA).
Both AWI Chairman, Ian McLachlan and MLA Chairman, Don Heatley urged all producers in the region to attend the forum.
"This forum is not only an opportunity to see what's being done to build demand for Australian Merino wool in today's market; but also to improve the on-farm profitability for every producer," Mr McLachlan said.
“The potential for Australia's prime lamb industry is enormous, and is based upon the Merino ewe. So it is time to drive forward the future success and sustainability of the Australian Merino industry for all pastoral producers. I urge all producers to attend this forum to find out how they can make a difference to their business,” Mr Heatley said.
Registration on the day starts at 9.30am with proceedings starting at 10am, and will finish at 4pm. Lunch and afternoon tea are provided.
