An Irish business family during a courtesy call on the Indlovukazi at the Embho Royal House recently, ordered over 5 000 hand knitted and crouched garments for exports to Ireland beginning of next year.
The Queen Mother had initiated the project, administrated by the Swaziland Trading House (STH) with the local women already started training on the knitting and crouched patterns and garment designs for export involving five Tinkhundla Centres.
Gerry and Ann Robinson are expected to buy about 2000 garments initially while finalizing the trade agreements and there after 5000 garments would be exported to Ireland monthly.
The Queen Mother expressed gratitude to the investors for showing interest and helping local women to generate income.
STH would sample the garment patterns to the Robinsons who would obtain approval of the designs from Ireland market and place orders to begin producing.
