GTFI welcomes Sino – EU agreement to self-restrain exports

The union of the German Textile and Fashion Industry (GTFI) Chief, Silvia Jungbauer, stated that the organization has welcomed the agreement signed by China and the EU on textile trade.
She explained that the organization was urging since long to the Chinese and EU and also to the German government to make out a voluntary export self-restraints through bilateral negotiations.
China and the EU meeting, which was hold for ten hours was reached agreement to end the trade tensions between the two parties.
Under the agreement, the annual growth of textile exports to EU for the ten categories of Chinese textile is set to restraint between 8 percent and 12.5 percent from June 11, 2005 and will last by 2007.
