Salisbury's Tomas Lipop scoops 1st prize in BGA's Design Competition 05

British Glove Association announced the National celebrity Design Competition results.

Tomas Lipop of Salisbury College wins first prize in the British Glove Association's National Celebrity Design Competition 2005 with his glove design for boxer, Chris Eubank. Salisbury College has also claimed the Silver Salver, a national prize held for one year, awarded to the college judged to have contributed the best series of designs from the 50 highest scores.

Tomas Lipop and a representative from Salisbury College will be presented with their prizes by Betty Boothroyd at a prestigious award ceremony, which is being held at Skinners Hall in the City of London on July 5, 2005. Tomas wins £500, a framed certificate and work experience with Dents of Warminster.

Students from 150 design colleges were invited to enter this year's competition that combined two popular student events in addition to fund raising activities for the NSPCC.

Students were required to design an original glove or a poster promoting safety in the workplace using any one of the following NSPCC supporting celebrities:

Paul Daniels

Charlie Dimmock

Chris Eubank

Nick Faldo

Aggie MacKenzie

Tommy Walsh

Kim Woodburn

Commenting on his win Tomas Lipop said: "This win is just great. It will hopefully open up doors for me in the future."

The runner-up prize went to Katie Hughes of the University of Lincoln forher design of a glamorous glove for Kim Woodburn of "How Clean is your House" fame.
