Winsome Textiles unleashes expansion plan of Rs 100cr

The Winsome Textiles, based at Chandigarh has unleashed an expansion plan at an investment of Rs 100 crore. As per the plan it will set up a knitwear-manufacturing unit in Mohali. The company was earlier in the business of spinning and dyeing yarn.

Manish Bagrodia, Managing Director - Winsome Yarns Limited, informed that the company will invest the entire investment in a phased manner in coming five years.

The company has started the unit for manufacturing readymade fashion garments in Mohali. At present, the production capacity of the Mohali unit is 15,000 to 20,000 garments per month, which would be raised to 150,000 to 200,000 garments per month within next five years.

The company has began manufacturing for other premier brands such as Wills Lifestyle and Madura Garments, but eventually it intends to launch own branded fashion garments.

Bagrodia explained that the company considers equal importance of both for the domestic and export market. As per him, 50 percent of the over all production would be exported. The key export destination is the Far East and EU market. The company is also successful in entering in the US market.
