The Consumer Price Index (CPI) in May 2006 was 0.3 percent higher than that of the corresponding month in 2005 and had climbed marginally by 0.1 percent over April 2006 with an index of 102.8.
Due to increase of 1.7 percent in the cost of clothing and footwear; 1.2 percent on household goods, services; higher cost of medical and health by 0.4 percent the CPI had varied.
Although, the cost of food and non-alcoholic beverages, housing, water, electricity and maintenance, and education remained the same as in the previous month.
