B K Birla Group to spend Rs 1000cr for capacity expansion

Spelling out ambitious capacity expansion plan, the Chairman of BK Birla Group, Mr B K Birla said major group companies will expand their capacities.
The Rs 1000 crore plan entails stepping up investment in group companies like Century Enka, Century Textiles and Kesoram Industries. Birla informed this during a break at the annual meeting of Kesoram Industries.
He said Rs 650 crores were required for Century Textiles expansion, while Century Enka will require investment to the tune of Rs 160-165 crore.
Further, another group company with interests in cement Kesoram Industries, will require between Rs 400 to Rs 450 crores for raising its current production capacity, which will go up from 16.5 lakh to 45.5 lakh metric tons per annum.
