Following in the footsteps of NIFT, Andhra Pradesh Handicrafts Development Corporation Ltd has suggested Government to open a State institute of Handicraft technology.
The plan has been submitted by Chairman B Anjan Raju to Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy with the vision of developing handicrafts in the state and offering Degree/Diploma courses for the benefit of unemployed people.
Raju along with Managing Director, B Jayaraj informed that the centre was ready to give Rs1 crore for the institute and they were looking for 10 acres of land.
Corporation has also proposed to Chief Minister to provide 75 percent subsidy so that manufactures of artefacts can export it to South East Asia and Buddhist countries.
