6th Euro-Med Conference passes resolution on trade

Unanimous decisions were taken at the 6th Euro-Mediterranean Conference on Industry to improve and promote the trade relation between the two.
The decisions include the implementation of charter on businesses, promotion of investments, helping the trade of industrial products, and in the area of textile and clothing industries.
Finnish Trade and Industry Minister Mauri Pekkarinen who presided over the meet said that they aimed to set up a Mediterranean trade zone by 2010. On the other hand, Dimitris Sioufas, Development Minister said that resolution would boost the cooperation between the two on all important issues.
European Commission Vice-President Gunter Verheugen who was praised for his efforts, said that it was imperative for both to enhance their trade relations at a rapid pace.
