An exhibition is held at Poompuhar sales showroom on Anna Salai. It displays sarees of various colours and designs, cottons and silks, salwar kameezes and kurtas, and offers 10 percent discount on all handloom items.
It showcases artificial silks from Andhra Pradesh, Dharwad cotton from Karnataka, Lucknow Chikan embroidery sarees, Varanasi sarees and salwars from Uttar Pradesh, Kota sarees, Jaipur bed sheets, Lehenga choli and bandhini from Gujarat, Panipat bedsheets from Haryana, silk sarees from Orissa, cottons and silks from Tamil Nadu's Kancheepuram, Thirubuvanam, Arani, Salem, cottons from Ganapathypalayam, Uraiyur, Madurai and handcrafted handlooms.
This exhibition will close on October 20, 2006 and it has sarees in the price range of Rs200 to Rs23,000.
