New anti-dumping measures imposed by EU on leather shoes from China and Vietnam has been welcomed by Slovenian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCIS) with a caution that duty may not have big impact on prices.
Joze Smole heading CCIS's association for textile, garment and footwear industries said that effect of duty will be tiny and difference between imported price and duty-bound price will be insignificant.
Measures include import duty of 16.5% on Chinese and 10% on Vietnamese shoes. China has reacted strongly to these measures promising retaliatory action while Vietnam fears loosing jobs as a result of this.
