Indian Oil Corporation (IOC) is planning to expand its Panipat refinery production from 12 million tons to 15 million tons with an investment of around Rs5000 crore and is expected to be completely operational within three years.
Total value of the petrochemicals project in this city is estimated at Rs11,900 crore, significantly higher than the initial Rs6,300 crore.
The naphtha unit of 2 million ton will also be fully geared up by then and will produce 8 lakh and 5.75 lakh tons per annum ethylene and propylene, respectively, alongwith around 3 lakh tons of low and high-density polyethylene, per year.
Company has sketched a massive Rs30,000 crore expansion plan that includes development of advanced petrochemicals hubs in Panipat and Paradip.
As part of the program 15 million tons refinery is coming up at Paradip will also incorporate a hydrocracker.
