Tashkent is going to hold II international cotton fair from October, 17-18 which is being organized by Uzbek Foreign Economic Ties, Investment and Trade Ministry, leading Uzbek cotton-mill associations.
Around 350 foreign partners belonging to 32 states have shown interest in participating in the show. Cotton weighting around 50, 0000 tons will be up for sale.
In the export of cotton Country is second only to US. In 2004, it exported 840000 tons of cotton fiber valued at US$876.1 million which was 18.1% of budget currency revenue.
Cotton export earned $1.03 billion which was 19.1% of total export. It is projected that cotton export of Uzbekistan will go up to 53, 0000 tons by 2010.
