Padmashree Chaturbhuj Meher visited the Chetana Craft Centre exhibition in Mumbai, recently, where nearly 1000 saris within the range of Rs800 to maximum of one lakh were displayed.
Creating these exquisite pieces employed over 5000 weavers and were greatly praised by Meher.
The guru in art of weaving, Chaturbhuj has made amazing contribution to this field and told the press, “The art of handloom is my life, my soul. Blossoming this art is the sole aim of my life.”
The exhibition that offered wide range of kurtis, tie-and-dye and Bomkais saris and deresses was inaugurated by flamboyant singer Ila Arun.
