A French commerce delegation led by Zhang Yi, president of French-Chinese Clothing Industry Chamber of Commerce visited Shantou City on Dec 17-18 to see about industrial cluster bases of "Chinese arts and crafts sweater city" and "Famous Chinese sweater town", on purpose of seeking cooperative opportunities between the two sides.

More than 400 Chinese garment wholesalers in 11th district in Paris formed the first Chinese trade associations in France at that time.
